About Us

 

Kent Wide Down Syndrome Group (KWDSG) is affiliated to the Down Syndrome Association (DSA).

 

Originally we started as smaller parent run support group in Medway, Canterbury, Thanet, Herne Bay – members of these smaller groups got together and decided that a larger group would have a larger voice, more positive changes and support could be given or made.  We consist of parents, carers and interested parties and people with Down syndrome.  We are run by a group of volunteer trustees from all areas of Kent. Our main aims are:-

• To provide support, advice and training for families, professionals, carers and people with Down syndrome.
• To promote public awareness of Down syndrome and to encourage local support groups.
• To provide support and exchange information through - conferences, workshops, social events, group meetings and local sub-support groups and this website.
