All You Need Is Love

 

 

It wasn't what we'd hoped for.

It wasn't in “our plan”.

Many fears and worries came along

With the birth of baby Sam.

 

 

Not being at all religious

There was no-one we could blame.

But very soon the sun came out

To replace the cloud and rain.

 

 

We weren't caught up in some bad dream

Or a ghastly nightmare.

And to think of Sam as a big mistake

Would be so grossly unfair.

 

 

Our lives were far from over

We just went a different way

And our love for Sam just deepened

With the dawn of each new day.

 

 

To witness Sam develop

With our love that never wains

It's really very simple

It is us that truly gains.

 

 

She is such a little treasure

And a sister for Joe to love.

She's made our family so complete

The missing finger in our glove.

 

 

You don't need extra patience.

What you have is good enough.

When blessed with special children

All you really need is love.
